The time has come for us to embrace our past and draw back the veil of speculation obscuring the
truth of our asylum history. This is the people's site created in the public domain with first hand experience. A unique and
unprecedented compilation of images and testimony, to dispel myths and leave an invaluable legacy for future generations.
This institution represents a microcosm of society from the harsh expectations of Victorian values,
through the generations of stigma and experimental medicine right up to the present attitude of care in the community. By
the honest sharing of it's history we will be guided towards replicating the successes and take responsibility by learning
from the mistakes.
